Advice on BCW full and final offer.

My partner has recieved a letter today from BCW offering a full and final settlement on a debt of £271, they will accept £147. The letter says that it is without prejudice and this will be a full and final settlement. It asks that he contact their office within 5 days from the letter.
He is willing to settle with this amount but I can't find a template letter so I can email them and agree on it.
Any help is appreciated

you need to state that will you make the payment in full and final settlement of his liability in relation to the account(s) and any third party asociated with it, and the amount will be marked as satisfied on his credit file. Make sure that you quote the full referece and account number etc. I'm sure there are some template letters in other threads.

I emailed and asked for clarification and this is the reply that I got:
"Unfortunately I can only comment on what BCW Group Plc will do upon receipt of your payment and I can only confirm that BCW Group Plc will not take any other action to enforce or pursue this debt in any way whatsoever."

However the letter that they sent in the post does say that it is without prejudice and the amount will be taken as a Full and Final settlement. Does that mean that it's ok to send them the money and they wont come chasing him for it at a latter date?

do you know if they have bought the debt, or are they representing the original creditor? What type of debt is it and how old ?What did they say about marking the default as satisfied?
Send the payment recorded delivery by cheque with an accompanying letter, referring to their original letter, and re-iterating it is in full and final settlement of the account etc. If they bank the cheque, they have accepted it as a f&f settlement.0 -

They are acting on behalf of O2, it is a mobile phone debt. This is what they said regarding the default,
I can confirm that if you pay £xxx.xx within the next 7 days, we will return your account to our client, Telefonica O2 UK Ltd, informing them of the settlement you have paid.

If your credit file has been affected this will have been done by our client and BCW Group Plc has not in any way affected this. Our client upon receipt of your payment and confirmation of this paid as settlement will register this as partially satisfied on your credit file against any default registered.

Does that mean we need to contact O2 to confirm they won't pass it on again?

as long as your accompanying letter refers to the specific account and states f&f settlement of your OH's liability with regards to the oustanding debt of xxx, and they bank the cheque, then it is accepted as a f&f and cannot be pursued. Again, refer to their letter dated xxxx offering the settlement too. It all seems the normal spiel to me, but if it does make you feel better than check with o2.
Good luck0
