Do you mean an Employment Tribunal? If so, the number for general enquiries only is 0845 7959775.
England no longer has Industrial Tribunals per se, they are known as Employment Tribunals. I believe Northern Ireland still has some Industrial Tribunals, and I'm not sure about Scotland.

yes my hubby hasn't been paid and was made to hand in his resignation, he handed over a months notice but his boss must have ripped it up becuase he is saying he didn't hand it over etc.... his boss is a complete ........**-*-*-*- anyway we have been to citizens advice etc and can't get through to acas so was wondering what to do next!!

You would submit a 'complaint' on form 'IT1' to an employment tribunal service (ETS) regional office - the address of which the CAB will be able to provide you. You don't really need to 'call' the ETS ahead of making a complaint and - indeed - they would not progress matters for you unless you did make a formal complaint. Take CAB advice on how to proceed (eg identify the appropriate grounds - such as 'unlawful stoppage' of wages) and note that in general there is a limit of 90 days from the revelant event in which to complain. Failing that of course there is 6 years to pursue a separate action for loss of earnings through (eg) the 'small claims' courts. ETs are courts in reality - whatever tey suggest about being 'informal'. Decisions are enforeable and 'final' (eg you can't then complain to an SC court about the ET failing to agree with you -you can only take one route or the other)
If your husband was a member of a union he could have got help with this now - but I suspect he wasn't or the union would have become involved before it moved to resgination.
So if considering going to tribunal it is very important to get early advice and to get all the facts down on paper so that you understand fully what redress is possible.
If you do complain then ACAS will automatically be contacted to attempt 'conciliation' - but sometimes they are a complete waste of space (eg failing to contact the other party) Still they can sometimes sort out simple matters like money owing without the need to end up at a hearing - saving both sides some grief

PS I worked for a complete ........**-*-*-*- also and a lying one at that. Please appreciate that the threat of a tribunal can actually make people less willing to sit down an deal with each other decently and that hearings themselves can be a disappointment because in practice they restrict what can be considered. Some things to be aware of........before you submit a claim form:
Your claim will not be accepted if:
It is not on an approved ET1 form
You have not given all the required information
You have not raised your complaint with the respondent and waited 28 days.
If you decide to go to an Employment Tribunal, you must raise your complaint in writing with your employer and wait 28 days before presenting your claim to a tribunal office.
As suggested by others, get legal advice from the Citizens Advice Bureau or a solicitor.;)
Most claims to Employment Tribunals must be made within very strict time limits. In most cases the tribunal must receive your claim within three months. This three months begins with the date your employment ended or when the matter you are complaining about happened.
