Westcott Credit Services phoning me at work!

Options
Hi, got a question that hopefully someone will be able to advise on.

I defaulted on a Tesco CC nearly 2 years ago. The debt was passed first to Triton (awful bunch) who demanded I pay in full or nothing, which I obviously couldn't. It then went to Newman DCA who I agreed monthly payments with.

Recently I made a settlement offer, which they ignored until I sent another letter advising that I could no longer sustain the high payments and that I would pay token payments, and could they send paperwork to enable me to set up these new payments.

They ignored that, then sent me a letter saying they rec'd my settlement offer and were going to present it to their clients etc.

No letters since, just automated phone calls asking me to call them (no thanks, letter only).

Then today my boss takes a call from Westcott Credit Services. Now I haven't dealt with them before, have no other outstanding debts so it has to be related to the Tesco/Newmans debt (I only ever gave my work number to tesco -big mistake! - but as far as I know Newmans never had it).

So will Newmans have 'passed on' or 'handed back' the debt, and it's been passed now to Westcott? The reference number given to my boss by Westcott doesn't resemble any Newmans or Tesco have used, I guess they could have made their own up though.

I'm not sure what to do next - as far as I'm concerned, Newmans have yet to give me an answer re: my offer, so how can some other bunch start harrassing me for it? I do not want them to call me at work again.

Any suggestions gratefully rec'd.

:)
