Working towards being debtfree....

Hello,
I thought I start my own debt free diary to help me keeping focused but also to remind myself of my journey and any achivements during this time.
I had my LBM in 11/2009 and had debts standing at a total of £44624 :eek: I never realised how bad it was until then. But rather than trying to scamp through the month, I went down the route of a DMP and every creditor with the exception of Barclay Card Loans accepted.
BarclayCard Loans defaulted me straight away but have taken the monthly payment and as yet I am waiting to hear from a DCA. Capital One also defaulted me 2 months after accepting my DMP but have frozen interest so I am finally chipping away on the debt rather than just paying the interest. MBNA have been the best and frozen interest straight away and so far have not defaulted me, actually my CreditExpert entry states 'Satisfactory'. Same as BarclayCard and altough they refused to freeze interest, they reduced interest to less than 7% so again I am actually paying debts off.
When I started my journey I was so scared about potential legal actions but since December 2009 I have not had a call or letter other than the monthly statements. :T
And as off today, I have paid £5885 over the past 10 months and if I can stay on track, this will have increased to £7064 by the end of 2010.
My mum will try and gift me money towards the Barclay Card Loan as a F&F at the end of this year as its the smallest amount outstanding at £1137 and I hope they will accept in teh region of £700 which means one debt is gone and I will have an additional £60 a month towards my other debts.
Right this is enough waffle from me.

Today I am having a wobbly day. I am full of cold, work is a pain and the weather is well, grey.
My motivation today isn't that great but I guess once you fell low, you can only feel better

Sorry about your bad day. Treat yourself to a nice hot bath and an early night when you get home.0 -
Thank you for your encouraging words. I decided I shall treat myself to a bottle of wine and once I walked the dogs, have a nice hot bath, a glass of wine and a book.LBM 11/2009 Total Debts 11/2009 £44624 with DFD 2015

Today I am having a nightmare day at work and if I wouldn't have these darn debts, I would have told my boss to shove it.
But had a lighten up, my housemate came back from shopping with some flowers and chocolates for me so my evening is saved :T
I will beat these debts and today made me want to do this even quicker, just wish I could find a good second income which with my job is near enough impossible.LBM 11/2009 Total Debts 11/2009 £44624 with DFD 2015

Another day has started and for a change the sun is out which lifts the spirits straight away

I thoroughly enjoyed my choccies last night especially since they were free.
Got paid today and all my standard orders have already been paid and the money has gone out to all my creditors. Feels a bit crap seeing my balance already but I cheered myself up thinking 'One month nearer being debt free' :T
So I have set myself a target to try and save £50 out of my already tight budget this month and next and join my friend on a hen night in December which else I would have to decline.
So, got a target, now trying to stick to it

I have not posted for ages here but decided to start again to keep myself on target.
Last month out of the blue BarclayCard Loans offered me a F&F on the defaulted amount which with help of a family member I was able to take them up to so from my 4 creditors on my DMP, only 3 remain :T:T
My mum has also offered me £12500 to try and do a full and final settlement on my 2 biggest creditors, Capital One which is defaulted and MBNA which is satisfactory on the DMP. If I can archive this, I can stop the DMP and chuck the £600 I am paying at the moment at my BarclayCard and hopefully clear that within 6 months making me debt free. :j
Anyway, I hope everyone has a good new years and we all become that step closer to our DFD in 2011.:DLBM 11/2009 Total Debts 11/2009 £44624 with DFD 2015
