Hi Darren
I don't think I would have been quite so open with personal details, given that your situation is still to be resolved however, I can appreciate your anxiety.
I would imagine that ASDA (and Netto - as it exists?) will have established procedures to be followed in such situations. Employees should be kept fully informed by the HR department but you do not say what communications have already been received.
I have not had personal experience of such buy-outs but it would be worth reading up on TUPE (google it for links to various information sources).
Whatever happens, you need to prepared thoroughly for the various potential options. So, spend some time dusting off your CV, especially your key skills, track record of achievements etc.
Why not give the manager of the nearest ASDA store a ring to see if you can go and see how they operate and discuss your aspirations? Sure, this may turn out to be a duplication of any ASDA process but shows you are proactive and not relying on someone else to determine your destiny.
Hope this helps and good luck.
