Hi,
Does your new part time hours enable you to get another part time job maybe to make up the short fall? Is there any other aspects of your life where you can compromise with your spending?Puppy Chick wants to be mortgage free by 50! Hi
It sounds like you need to do a revised statement of affairs with your new income to see how much you should have left to pay towards these debts. http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html
How many hours will you be working? have you looked to see if you might get any working tax credit?
What will you do in your freed up time? Perhaps you could look to see if there are ways you can make some money online (surveys, reviews, 'daily clicks' etc).
Have you been through all your outgoings to see if all are as cheap as you can get (cheapest tariff/supplier etc).
Will your outgoings reduce at all such as less petrol or travel costs as you are not working so many days?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Agree you need to look at doing a revised budget to see how you will manage on the lower amount. If you are still on over 30 hrs (or 16 if you have children) you should be able to claim tax credits. Could also look at housing/council tax benefit as I am on about on same as your new income and was entitled to a small amount before OH started at uni.0

Maybe Ive missed the point. I often do but....
Im not sure why it came as a 'blow' to you? If you decrease your hours then of course your pay decreases by a proportion of those hours.
Surely a blow is when your boss says he is decreasing your hours and you were not expecting it?
Was it a blow because you hadnt realised how much your pay would decrease?
Could you not have just renegotiated your job description without decreasing your hours?Egg April 10 £6600 Jan £4678 now £0
