Abbey Mortgage (Santander)

Full application went in on the 20/09/10. 85K mortgage with 10K deposit.

They have now debited the arrangement fee and valuation fee from our account. Is this a good sign or just part of the process?

I think we are being very inpatient but has anyone else had the experience of applying with Abbey and how was it?

They often debit the money straight away and will return the valuation fee if the valuation never happens for whatever reason. After 3 days I would expect the valuation to be booked pretty soon.

This is normal but just keep contacting them until you get mortgage offer and make sure it is sent to your solicitior as he will not make an offer to buy a property for you until he has this. As long as they have all the information it shouldn't take long also the survey company can take over a week. Don't be patient just on top of everything and the balls in their court and they are not waiting for you to supply info
