Scottcall Question

Scotcall are bugging me to pay my CC debt. I have been shredding the letters and burying my head in the sand about it as I had more important issues to sort like rent etc.

Amount owed £536.10p, when I sort out a payment arrangement will it all come off my debt or will they add interest ?

Thankyou

I would imagine that the interest has been frozen by now as it's made it's way to the DCA, not 100% sure though.

They may however layer wacky and multiple "charges" for letters etc so I would get on the blower to them and sort out a payment plan. Remember, don't be bullied, don't take their threats as fact and for the love of God, DON'T let them set up a direct debit or card payment on any of your accounts. Tell them it's standing order only.

    Good luck and godspeed.

Hi Bluejeans, I've been dealing with Scotcall for a bit now...finally managed to get them down a bit on the settlement figure but everything I have done has been by letter and if they did call me I would tell me to put everything in writing...simple. They will pester the life out of you but as long as you are in some kind of contact with them they tend to leave the old "threatening" letters out of it.

Just contact them, tell them your situation how much you are going to pay each month and you need their bank details for a standing order. I have normally found that once it has gone to a DC they freeze the intrest and chagre any way.

    Hope this helps!! Good Luck.
  • Hiya and Thankyou both for your advice.

I will be honest they never ring me, they always write, think maybe they don't have my number ? I will write back with my offer and ask them to return by post if offer is accepted there bank details. I will also explain that this is the most I can offer

    Thankyou again

Your priorities are things like rent ,council tax & utility bills etc.....these clowns dont matter - i'd offer them £1 per month personally in a like it or lump it sort of way.
If they carry on harassing you then report them to the OFT,trading standards.
