hi all
i have brought packs of tissues for my guests- so am thinking of how to give them out-
maybe a basket near the ushers as they go in the cermoney-
any cheap baskets?
and a message on the basket- saying something to the effect of- wipe your joyful tears with these tissues ?????
and how would i put it on the basket- just glue it??
thanks

How about making it like a luggage tag and tie it on with a ribbon.0

Who says they will cry?0

I kind of agree with David.... I don't see any harm in having them available near the entrance in a basket - but a tag saying "wipe your joyful tears" or something similar sounds a tad presumptuous?I love surprises!0

believe me they will cry- so no its not presumptuous.
I have found this which i love- http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://photos.weddingbycolor.com/p/000/015/497/m/134195/p/medium/346303.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.weddingbycolor.com/tags/tears%2520of%2520joy&usg=__4_ucVNbzmA4JjoDucUZXwRSfmpI=&h=115&w=115&sz=5&hl=en&start=32&zoom=1&tbnid=34SKGTP8OkZdJM:&tbnh=87&tbnw=87&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dbridal%2Btissues%2Bwipe%2Bthe%2Btears%2Bbaskets%26start%3D20%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26rls%3DADBR,ADBR:2008-27,ADBR:en%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1Is a married woman!! 23rd July 2011 Best day of my life!

I go to many weddings and I cry, and they have not even been particularly weepy ones where there are sad stories and situations. That being said I still think it is presumptuous to put a basket of tissues out with something stating "for when you are all in floods of tears of happiness for us".
I think it is different when you package them up, leave them on each seat and stylise them that way - but leaving a basket of Kleenex packets with a certain type of message might sound strange. I don't see any harm in having a tag that says "Please feel free to take a packet, Love Sammy and Mr Sammy"
Picture this - I'm getting married, it's reasonable for me to assume that people will be bringing presents. But to leave a sign on the gift table saying "Put your beautiful generous gifts here" sounds a wee bit rude in my opinion.
But, you didn't ask for my opinion.... So here's an option http://s3.amazonaws.com/1000markets-images/pictures/0194/5722/CRY_PACKS_display.jpg?20091126215144I love surprises!0 -
the amounts of wedding i've gone to and expected to cry and didn't is unreal!

There's a shop near me that sells all sorts and the had some wicker style baskets in the back room on a shelf, have you got anything like that near you?
Don't forget to keep a pack for youself - it's supposed to be unlucky if the brides tears aren't caught, something to do with a bad harvest I think0
