I concur, looks like PCWorld have just reduced theirs in accordance with other suppliers, but inadvertantly left the other page up?

Well it does say Now HALF PRICE! Whilst our stocks last! Save £300, was £599 so I'm guessing it's an offer but the full price one shouldn't be there. HMV do this instore, if an item is in the sale it's normally at full price elsewhere in the story which is very sneaky if you happen to pick up the full price item, they won't tell you it's cheaper in the sale.

The thing is, it's only worth about £300 + VAT in current market anyway.

Fingerprint security isn't worth anything unless you're on a security sensitive busoness network anyway. If Someone wants to steal your data from your laptop, they will just remove the hard drive anyway...

Check out the equivalent Dell Inspiron 1300 machine and you'll find that £300+vat is par for the course.

The battery recall was first announced by Dell that is true. It is a problem with certain Sony Batteries however and has nothing to do with Dell.

Dell was first, then Apple. Last Friday Toshiba recalled 830,000 and Fujitsu recalled an undisclosed number. Lenovo and IBM recalled just over 500,000 Friday. A dozen OEM manufacturers have been told to recall the batteries too.

The reason I am pointing this out is if you have a laptop you should visit your manufacturers website to check if your laptop is effected.

Wouldn't like to be the person who let these batteries go out the factory would you :D Sony is in big trouble.

The is very untrue. The Dell one is far inferior!!

This NEC has got twice the memory, a DVD rewriter, Wi-fi, bluetooth, firewire, and very light & slim.
