What would you get a 2-year old girl for Christmas?

Hi there

We have to get a 2-year old girl a Christmas present. We don't know her very well... so don't know what she likes or dislikes. Although I have been told she likes making a mess.

Any suggestions please?

Thanks.

  • Hi there

Our little girl is 2 and loves to make a mess also! What about Aquadraw mats? They allow children to colour in using water and when the picture dries it disapears! My daughter loves them and I love them because they don't make a mess!!
  • Im not sure how much you want to spend but I have a 2 year old and my friend bought her a twin pram set with dolls that interact with each other, its called My Little Baby Born Interactive Twins & Pushchair - its expensive in Argos - but my friend got the one for my little one from ebay brand new for £19, which considering they are £45-50 in Argos and other retailers isnt half bad!
My little girl loves her twins and their pram - also good is the fact that they fold up flat for a) storage and b) for taking out in the car when she refuses to leave it at home!!
I would also second the Aquadraw though - I have a son who is a little older than my daughter and they both play with it!

My 2yr 4m daughter loves Aquadraw, Play-Doh, jigsaws, big fridge magnets, those mega-doodle etch a sketch magnetic drawing pad things, and any art stuff. A box filled with paper, paints, sponge pads, brushes, chunky crayons and chalks etc would be very popular!
  • I guess with little kids it's quantity not quality? Or do you keep the parents happy by going for quality?

Do 2-year olds like In the Night Garden stuff? Is that the right age for that series?

    Thanks.

2 year olds don't care about quantity or quality - too young for that (thankfully!!) Also as a parent I think that my child gets too much on that one day to appreciate what she gets - it overwhelms her! I much prefer something we can do together once Christmas is over i.e the aqua draw or paints, crayons etc. Or even a nice wooden jigsaw! Melissa and Doug do some great wooden jigsaws.
  • my little girl used to,and still, loves making a mess.

We have got moon sand which is good or playdough, the aquadraw mats are great as well cos there is no mess at all with them.

Peppa pig is always good as im yet to meet a little girl who doesnt love peppa!
:TIf your happy and you know it clap your hands :T
  • Depends on how much you want to spend really...
I got this Fisher Price Teapot (£15.99) for my 2 year old Daughter last Christmas and still still plays with it loads now. I love it, it makes a noise like water is being poured when you tip the teapot up.

Plus if you have some other Toys to buy, Argos currently have 3 for 2 on all Toys.
