Cala D'or

Morning ;)

I was wondering if anyone can recommend things to do in Cala D'or?

I was meant to be going to Tenerife but the flights were cancelled and i have now booked flights to Majorca.

Staying at the Fererra Blanca hotel, all inclusive in a suite (apartment).
Has anyone stayed at this hotel before? The reviews are really good on TA.

:)

  • Sorry, not stayed at that hotel but have visited Cala d'Or a few times. Its a very busy resort, especially in peak periods. You don't say if you are travelling with kids or what season you are going in. Perhaps if you can give us more info then people can suggest some things.

I've always thought that the best parts of Majorca are the areas away from the busy commercialised resorts. It is breathtakingly beautiful in places and it is such a shame when people spend two weeks lying on a sunlounger by the pool! If you can, hire a car for a few days and explore the island. Cala d'Or is OK, crowded in peak season, got the usual tatty tourist shops, kids mini golf and a few noisy discos, but the coves are pretty and lovely sandy beaches. Perfect if all you want to get is a suntan.
  • I've stayed at Cala D'Or but it was about 20 years ago now and I was only little then! *Feels Old*

From what I remember there's a nice harbour with some bars around. Think there's also a boat trip from the harbour that goes around that bit of the coastline, shows the coves around there.

It was 20 years ago though and I expect things have changed a lot since then :D

It's full of boats, bars and restaurants. Other than beaches, eating and sleeping there's not much to actually "do".

If you want to see more of Majorca jump on a bus or hire a car for a few days.
