When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :D

Good morning people:T

Check me up early enough to post in the morning

    Today's list:
    - got delivery charges refunded from Mr T :T They wouldn't deliver to my door, only to the bottom of the flat - Ts and Cs says they should deliver up to 3 flights and beyond that is driver's discretion - I'm on 2nd flight - that is why I use Mr Ts!! But hey ho, I'll carry them up if delivery is free ;)
    - dare I say NSD :o
    - tea at work :coffee:
    - ask manager to sign off my £249.20 expenses

If I think of a few more I'll update later xxx

Morning Milly & La E :wave:and to all who follow.Grey & dull here too but I'm going to be optimistic & believe that it'll brighten up later :D

Really gonna have to snap outta holiday mode as oh is back at work today & our house is a tip, with no food in it...

Today's list (must try to spread what needs to be done over the next 4 days instead of manically trying to get it all done today!)
    • [STRIKE]get beef out of freezer for roast [/STRIKE]:D (might as well do it today!)
    • [STRIKE]finish shopping list[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]go shopping[/STRIKE] :(
    • [STRIKE]check banking[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]pay money into bank[/STRIKE] (see below & £10 left from holiday)
    • [STRIKE]pad to cc[/STRIKE] (we sold 200 ciggerettes that we bought duty free last night & recouped our costs which goes to debt. When we sell the other 200 it goes in the "free money" pot :))
    • [STRIKE]when I go into town later pop into the Halifax and find out if I get a penalty for paying off loan early[/STRIKE] - best to be safe than sorry ;)have asked them to send me a statement as they are saying I owe £57 more than I make it...
    • [STRIKE]contact A&L re new card they sent me[/STRIKE]. Letter said cut up the old one & start using so I did and then when we got to the airport it didn't work! So had to use my current account and go into od  going to REALLY try to get them to wipe off the fee for this as we had transferred the money into our joint account! no fees showing at the moment, new pin being sent
    • [STRIKE]update sig[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]housework[/STRIKE] :( (I'll pop over & see what Mrs Flylady has to say about the state we're currently living in :o) starting to look a lot better ;)
    • [STRIKE]hc x2 & line dry (???)[/STRIKE] 1 done & on line, another in WM. Not gonna get it line dried now :o
    • go fo a run (I completely let it slip last week, by the end of the week I couldn't fit into my jeans! :o) decided as going to walk into town (25min walk each way) I will leave this until tomorrow as it fits better with my schedule for the rest of the week (motivation to run low at the moment :o)
    • [STRIKE]try & get hold of dd - couldn't reach her yesterday despite numerous attempts....[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]see if ds wants to watch a film later[/STRIKE](he took an entry test for his course while we were away and got 87%, the highest in his class :T)
    • ok that's too much to do! I also intend to relax & read my book :) Hope you all have a fab day x

    Morning All,

Thanks for starting the thread Milly – sorry I was AWOL yesterday…it was manic at work

    Anyhow, today I have/will
    • Checked online banking – no change, but have to check
    • Breakfast and dinner from storecupboard – I will buy some cheap soup at work for lunch – I ran out of time to heat up my home-made soup for lunch and make a sandwich
    • Go to WW after work and hope to have lost something
    • Used my rail pass to get to work
    • Have an NSD as I have £10 to last me til the end of the month….no real need to panic though as all my bills are paid – I have a ‘treat pot’ in my desk drawer for emergency chocolate, cans of drink etc, and I have enough in there for soup (it’s only £1.25 and really good
    • Need to look for MS jobs
    • Work really hard at work as it is almost month end and getting into a really busy period
    • Need to fill in my WW food diary – rather than buy a tracker I have a spreadsheet which I print out each week and file away
    • Need to take my vitamins to ease PCOS symptoms
    • Need to charge my mobile up at work
    • Need to try out more fruit teas at work to find one I like (they are free at work) – didn’t do this on Tuesday
    • While I am at work try not to roll my eyes at the really irritating person I sit next to….the term drama queen springs to mind
    • Need to catch up with friends on FB rather than texting people
    • Need to work on building up my self confidence (it is a really personal thing)
    • Read newspaper online and get the free newspaper at the station
    • Need to update my signature as it is out of date!

Take care everyone and have a great day

    Thanks Milly!

Sorry for not posting yesterday; I spent the day in hospital (ouch!) which was an...interesting....experience. I've had very little to do with the NHS before...!

    So, today I will:

    * Have morning coffee with a friend
    * Do an hour's paid work
    * Complete my CV for a 3 month interim role (although I don't really want it)
    * Sort out all my 'Work' folders on my laptop, then back them up
    * Check You Gov for surveys
    * Check Ebay items
    * Buy cheap train tickets online
    * Lunch and dinner from leftovers
    * Cook a Quorn mince (that I forgot to do the other day) to last a few meals
    * Transfer Ebay money to savings account

Think that's it! I hope everyone has a very good day. :)

Hope it wasn't anything too serious KiKi - but the whole day

Wannabe you write an awful lot of assignments and reports  I do hope you manage them each time and the lists are new clients, not yesterdays uncompleted lists? (There's nowt wrong with carrying forward, but you have a heck of a workload unless they're simple?)

Anyway I'll stop being nosy :o and wish you all Good Morning

    So today I have/will
    • make the apple crumbles for the freezer that I've promised DD
    • clean my bedroom :o
    • speak to Halifax about overpaying the mortgage and when it is best to do :money:
    • renewal for house insurance arrived, will price compare and hopefully Quidco the result :)
    • Try and buy the BA shares that the in laws are buying us for Christmas :D
    • weigh my suitcase which for once is teetering on the overweight
Today I'm leaving for Africa and probably won't post again until Monday - have a great weekend everbody :A
  • Good morning everyone,

Wel its really damp and bleak here!! There's no way im going to get any washing out today!!
