Default Removal - HELPPPP!!!!

Ok I have two situations which i could really do with some help sorting out

1. I have successfully reclaimed £1600 penalty charges from BarclayCard, I have the acceptance letter in my hand and just need to send it for the funds, however I was wondering if anyone could help me with a letter of some sort to ask for the default on my account to be removed, when i accept the 1600 my account will be easily cleared.

2. Pretty much the same, I have an account with Lowells (via egg) chasing a debt for £1200, I would really appreciate if someone could give me some advice as to what percentage to offer Lowells as a full and final settlement and would it be possible to get my egg default removed by Lowells

Thanks in advance

If the defaults were legally registered (which they sound like they were) you'l have very little hope of having them removed.....

I wish I could tell you better news but there it is.

They drop off after six years anyway.

It is very unlikely you will be able to get the defaults removed. They are within their rights to put them on the account if it was not being paid in full and on time. If the charges clear your account it will be marked as satisfied on your credit file which is accurate, on what do you basis do you think the default is incorrect?
Regarding Lowells the same principle with the default applies, for full and final settlement if Lowells have actually bought the debt I would suggest starting quite low (say 30-40%) you can always increase the offer later but can't reduce it!
