Advice needed please - SOA

Hi Guys

I was declared bankrupt a few months ago, and at that time filled in a SOA etc. When I was interviewed by the OR about the possibility of setting up a IPA, she asked if I was expecting any change of circumstances in the near future, which I was because I was having to look for somewhere else to live. The agreement was I would complete another SOA in a few months time and that would be assessed then.

So now I have to fill in another SOA and really wanted a little bit of advice if possible. I have moved from my previous address but have not yet found anywhere permanent to live (I am single with no children), I am currently 'renting' a room from a friend of mine on a temporary basis. We agreed a flat £450 a month all in, which covers rent, council tax, gas, elec, water, tv licese etc. My first problem is I dont have a set breakdown of how much of the £450 would go against which element, would I be able to just put this all down as rent and then explain what it includes? Also obviously none of the bills are in my name anyway so I wouldn't be able to send the OR proof of the costs if they asked for it. My second problem is will the OR expect to see some kind of tennancy agreement? If so this is something I dont have because it is a casual agreement I've had for the past few months and so far we nothing in writing. I am currently looking for somewhere else to live (a small flat ideally) but I'm struggling as a bankrupt because the majority of places to rent now days are through letting agencies and obviously I have a big problem with the credit check (even though ironically I can afford the rent no problem since being made bankrupt). I recognise that I need to try and sort this SOA/IPA thing out as I dont want it dragging on for ages but unfortunately things seem to be all up in the air at the moment and I dont really know how to proceed. At least I wont have to list all my debt repayments on this SOA so it really is just my expenditure to sort out.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Rebecca

Hi Rebecca, I would ring and explain to your OR about your situation and how to address this on your SOA. Just bumping you up the board for other replies.

    Best wishes

Put the £450-00 under rent, and then put a note to say what it covers.
