add to stir fry or whizz to puree and add to bolognese/stew.. slice and add to a pie, salads, fry up, they are good halved and grilled. soup, eat like grapes, as a side dish with leaves and a pasta bake.

They freeze well to use for future cooking projects.

I grew loads of surplus cherry tomatoes in the summer. I used them in pasta sauces, or cooked them down to make tomato purree and I also put them in vegetable soups. I have frozen lots of them whole in plastic bags and often get a handful out to cook in a little olive oil and serve on toast with a rasher of grilled bacon as a satisfying snack.

If you are going to make a puree with them, don't try to peel them first like you would with big tomatoes. Just make your puree, whizz up, then pass through a big sieve. I use one of my steamer saucepans, as it has bigger holes and doesn't make a mess of my sieve.

    Hi frankie1star,

As your thread has dropped down the Old Style board, I've added it to the main thread on using up cherry tomatoes which should give you some more ideas.

  • Lucky you! I've just spent quite a bit of money buying my toms. I suggest you make tomato soup using Jamie Oliver's recipe from 30min meals. Its really yum.
