CRB Check & Claiming Job Seekers Allowance?

If you are claiming JSA and have been offered a job that won't start for at least 6 weeks because of a CRB check being carried out, would you still be entitled to claim JSA if you are looking for other work possibilities?

If you are on Job Seeker's Allowance, then is there any support to cover the cost of a CRB disclosure. I was asked for 76 pounds for one for a job, a lot of money when your on JSA.

Do not sign off until you have a proper letter of acceptance. CRBs can take months. If the job is near your JC, sign off in the dinner hour on your first day at work.

You could ask your JobCentre personal adviser but I think this is highly unlikely.
£76 sounds too high I think. What sort of organisation was asking you to pay that?
Many employers will pay for a CRB upfront but deduct the cost from your first wages.
