Partially Satistifed - Do we or Don't we

Hi everyone
After a lot of letters going back and forth between MBNA and ourselves we have come to an agreement of a settlement of £5,750.00 on a £9,789.50 cc debt, which we are :j for joy with, but, and there is always a but!
We have sent several letters trying to get them to give us Fully Statisfied, but they will only confirm that we will not be pursued by MBNA or any other 3rd party (and here's the but) they will mark the account as part satisfied.
My question is do we or don't we go for this?
We received the letter today and asking for payment by the 24th September, which is a bit tight but if we get the cheque in the post tonight they should receive in the morning or Friday morning, they have also given us bank details to pay directly into but not sure if this is the right way to go?
We also received a court letter for a ccj (for the same account) saying that a court hearing has been set for the 6th October - really do not want to get a ccj against us.
Once again, would really appreciate your help.
Best wishes,
Andy

Hi there
I think you are the only one to make that decision they have not as usual given you much time to decide0 -
So they are saying they will only mark the credit file as part satisfied? To be honest this is usual and you would be very lucky to get them to mark the file as 'satisfied in full' - basically because they have to be honest on it and the account hasn't been paid in full. A mark on your file of part satisfied will do a lot less damage to your credit then a ccj.0

Hi Winner12 & podperson
Thank you both for your reply.
Winner12 - yes you're right, think I was just looking for a bit of back up - but as you say the decision lays with me and hubby, and thanks for making realise that.
podperson - the letter states "we willnotify the relevant credit reference agencies that hte account has been part satisfied" - and as you say this would be less damaging than a ccj.
Once again thank you both for your support. Think I have made the decision to pay them, at least that's one down, hopefully.
Kind regards
Andy0
