DILEMMA: Should she pay for cancelled plans?

More info from sis:
" There were 14 of us on the final arrangements email, including the bride and organiser, but I suspect there may have been 15 actually expected....so the idea of them all paying a little more, if I pay a nominal amount is not a bad one...
I got the impression it was a really relaxed affair, you know, turn up and join in, easy come, easy go, which is why I wasn't too worried about costs...
Stupidly, it turns out!"0 -

Just crossed my mind after remembering about your sis not being a close friend of the organiser......how close was she to the rest of the party? If the group was made up of a few friends and the rest aquaintances...I can't see anyone being happy to shell out extra to cover for someone who's not a close friend.
I'd be happy to put in extra for any of my pals but I'd not be pleased at having to cover a partial share of someone I just knew in the passing iyswim?Herman - MP for all!0 -
Just a quick note - my sister replied with an email stating that she can't afford to pay all of it, and that she feels more communication should have been given about the costs that were committed to beforehand. She has receiveda reply saying not to worry about ti, her situation is understood and that it will be covered.
But thanks for your thoughts & viewpoints!0 -
Glad it was all sorted out in the end, and she didn't have to pay
Bet she will be making sure she gets all the costs info next time!

Oh that's good, I bet she's relieved. She'll know the next time to cross the 't's and dot the 'i's I expect.Herman - MP for all!0
