Selling house for rebting parents place - on DMP

Hi all
Hubby and i on dmp through cccs.
NR mortgage (fix rate) expired in August so now on variable rate.... Have been fixed for 5 yrs....

Parents dont know about my debt - would be mortified. They dont have a mortgage and have just put down a deposit on a new build as an investment property.

I have a small 2 bed terraced and they have brought a large 3 bed place (i have 2 small children)
I'm weighing up whether to stay at present house and sit out variable rate (no chances on new mortgage due to defaults....) or sell mine, rent my parents place until market picks up and defaults are off my credit file....

Any advice or words of wisdom greatly appreciated

Thanks a lot
