Barclay's Initial card

Hi. Having recently moved into a flat, paying a huge deposit and other expenses, it's now time for my M.0.T. I'm expecting a bill for around £200-£300 and can no way fit that into my budget.
Firstly I applied for the tesco 0% card and got turned down so went through credit expert and their search matched me with the barclaycard initiative/freedom card.
I'm not liking the huge interest rate of 29.9% but I don't think I'd get a better deal.
I'm not going to use it for anything else so shouldn't take too long to pay off.
Has anyone had this card before or got any advice for me.
Thanks in advance

I applied for this card 12 months ago and surprisingly was accepted with a £1000 credit limit:D
It was my 1st cc after a long long period having a bad credit file so I've used it as a credit rebuilding card by only spending a little on it each month and paying in full so the interest rate hasn't been an issue for me.
By using this to rebuild my credit I've recently been accepted for a nationwide gold card:T
From the point of applying I did get the card quick, about 7 - 10 days if memory serves:cool
The freedom side just gives you credit, but it builds ever so slowly well it has for me lol
I've not been offered any credit limit increases in the 12 months I've held the card, I applied once after 8 months and got rejected:o0 -
Thanks for your help. Sounds up my street, this card. I'll give it a try:j0

I did the pre check and was turned down. Not really sure where to go from here. It was the only card Credit Expert said I would have a chance at getting. I'm still waiting to see if I'm on the electoral role for my new flat(I filled in the form 3 weeks ago) and i was told that it was important to be.
Would I have a chance of getting one through my own bank, Lloyds?
Only other option would be to extend my overdraft....0 -
If you've only recently moved in it might be because you're not showing on the electoral roll at your new address. Is it showing up yet, as that's often an instant decline for many lenders.0

That could be it then. When I phoned credit expert, the man said I wasn't showing to be on the electoral role. How long does it normally take and how do I go about finding out?0

DOH! I checked my Lloyds account and I still have a duo airmiles credit card from 3 years ago that I never ended up using.
I've called Lloyds and they are re-activating it! 15% APR and £1000 limit.0 -
