x-box!

Hi,

My wee brother (a lot younger) had his x-box break on him two days before christmas. He got loads of games for xmas and hence, is a little frustrated at not getting hold of a new one at a decent price. His old one is definitely unfixable!

Any ideas?

94.99 (not sure of p&p) at gameplay and 99.99 (1.5 p&p) at Game and 97.98 at amazon, with game you can get an extra 2.5% cashback via greasypalm and 3% for amazon. break how? there are some good sites on xbox repair, so it may be salvagable for around £30. The only thing is that you'll void your warranty, but by the sounds of things, that's no longer an issue!

Not too pricey to replace. Try http://xboxbreakers.co.uk. New motherboards are £49.99 or £55.00, depending on whether it's a 1.6 or not.

All the components just plug in, so replacing the board isn't difficult at all. Opening the Xbox will invalidate the warrenty, but as the motherboards now knackered, I'm guessing it was in the process of being modded, so it's already opened?

How do you know the motherboard's at fault? There are loads of good fault finding guides and forums out there which may help.

worthless post...... i'm asking where to get a cheap one, and ppl are being helpful and seeing if there is a way to repair this one.

you might want to try and get hold of one of the games bundles pack then sell the games therefore reducing the price of the actual console. I remember ages ago in quick grabbit forum there was a post about how you can add two games for free when you order online a crysal xbox. Hope this helps

have you contacted xbox manufacturers because when our ps2 stopped working we phoned ps2 manufacturers up and they offered to sell us a reconditioned one for £30 or something. might be worth a shot
