I'm trying to find transportation - for 16 people - from Comber to Bangor for a school formal. Preferably NOT a 'normal' limo ( ...so last year apparently :rotfl:)
Personal experiences (both good and bad ) would be most welcome.

What about the Party Fire Engine? Have seen them about, its a fire-engine transformed into a mobile disco etc. Really different from limos.0

yes...I think these look like fun ( even though it's not for me) , BUT the web site's I've found all look a bit 'cheap', there are only mobile phone numbers for contact details ( I prefer good old fashioned landlines ) and they want credit card details over the phone...all of these make me slightly warey, which is why any personal experience - good or bad- is so valuable....anybody ???

My children's primary school got a party bus for the school fair last year. Obviously whoever booked it didn't look at the outside of the bus - this lurid pink and black bus drove up the drive, complete with silhouette of a well-endowed woman pole-dancing on the side. Mind you the dads looked pleased to see it. Anyway, the floor was a complete oil slick due to all the baby oil from the hen/stag parties, and there were a couple of poles and a cage (for playing 'lions'), a bar and juke box. The PTA got a special rate because it was being parked all night and only needed a driver, but I think the normal rate was about £200 for an or 2 hour's drive, complete with bar man.
To be perfectly honest I thought it was one of the tackiest things I have ever seen, but the kids had a ball, and I imagine anyone under 21 would think it was great (and a lot over 21 - I am probably particularly boring!!)
I will try and find out the name of the company for you if you are interested.0 -
Just found the website - http://www.entertainernorthernireland.co.uk/page/30_seater_boogie_bus
It says that it has been refurbished, with a new non-stick floor, so it has maybe been improved from when I saw it!
Though the price is also a bit dearer than I had thought too...0 -

Thanks stressed mum  ...I loved your description of the 'bus':rotfl:
Would you believe that I had actually contacted this company earlier this evening- because their website looked the most 'respectable'.
They're quoting £320 for the journey, which is more expensive than I'd have liked, but my little angel thinks the price sounds 'cool' !!!
Because they're based in Banbridge they'll have quite a long round-trip which they've presumably encorporated into their price ??
I suppose a company based in Belfast/Bangor/Newtownards might be more resonably priced, but I'm not having much luck coming up with any suitable companies.0 -

Belfast City Tours have one for hire for weddings & special occasions. As you say it may be a bit big for 16 but in my area (not NI) it was done for about 20 and they had a small party on the bus on the way to the prom. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I've seen old 60s style buses being used for wedding and one was in Newtownards. Though that Boogie bus does look good. If the price is split between the 16 works out at £20, not that bad in the long run.0
