Default advice please

Hi,
please can someone tell me what impact a default has on my credit file, and how long it stays for? Also, once the debt has been cleared do I have to correct my credit file or should the creditor update the credit file. Also, if on a payment plan with a creditor does it show on my file that there is a plan in place or does it just show default month after month. All advice and help is welcome, I am stressed beyond belive at the moment. Sorry for the barrage of questions just so stressed.

Cheers
Little Witch

  • The default will stay on file for 6 years and it will affect your credit completely. We had a settled default that still had 3 years left to fall off and we couldn't get credit for anything.

Use this time to rebuild and refocus and you will come out on top!
