Does anybody have any advice on which route I should take. Do I just find what I think is the best offer for me directly on the internet or do I seek out a mortgage advisor (don't they charge fees??) and let them find the best deal for me.
Basically money is a bit tight at the moment - we have a 2 year old child and are planning for a second but want to try and get our finances straightened out as best we can before doing so.
Our house has been valued at £220,00 and we currently have a mortgage of £130,000 - our mortgage is with Nationwide on a 3 yeard fixed which runs out in November this year - our monthly payment are roughly £850. Ideally we would like to get our monthly payments down so that we are able to cope with a new arrival - but would not like to leave ourselves to open to large interest increases in the future.
Does anybody have any suggestions / advice. Alternatively does anybody know where I could obtain advice free within the Bedfordshire area (good recommedations!!).
Thanks in advance for your help.
