Funny how you mentioned the place across the road...The manager of Blink used to be one of the owners. Maybe he's seen the light and realised that good service, product knowledge and advice (along with a nice cup o tea) beat misleading advertisements every time.
A good Optician (independant or otherwise) will always serve the customers needs rather than the companys.
P.S. I'm not connected in any way to either of the places mentioned...just know a little too much about the optical industry.
