Hi all
Firstly I just want to say thank you to all you lovely peeps on here who help me everytime a letter or email arrives or my phone rings and Im too scared to answer!! I really appreciate all of your help:rotfl:
So heres the latest which I could do with a little advice on please................Yesterday I received a Notice of Debt Recovery from DLC on behalf of Orange.
I received this yesterday and need to respond by tomorrow (thanks for giving me plenty of time then!!!). I have been ringing Orange for months but can never get through to the relevent person and have also written with my offer of payment and not heard back.
Please can anyone advise what I should do? Ive never heard of a Notice of Debt Recovery and only have until tomorrow to respond to DLC.
Ive managed to sort all my other debts out with offers of payment which have been accepted, just dont know what to do about this one?
Many thanks
SnS

Some debts are fun when you are acquiring them, but none are fun when you set about retiring them!!!
It's amazing how fast later comes when you buy now!!!!

It's a standard threatogram and their deadline means nothing.
If your strategy is to make payments to your debt then do make the offer in writing to dlc using National Debtline mateial. Their pro-rata offer letter looks like this:Dear Sir/Madam
Re Account No/Reference No:- 4563210025897412
Since making that above agreement with you, our circumstances have changed.
We cannot now afford to agreed monthly payments because ... [your paragraph added here]
We enclose a Personal Budget sheet which shows our total income from all sources, and our outgoings. As you can see we have only £_____ per month left for our creditors.
The offers we have made to our creditors have worked out on a pro-rata basis, and we have written to all our creditors asking them to accept reduced payments.
In view of our circumstances, please would you agree to accept a reduced offer of £_____ per month. If interest or other charges are being added to the account we would be grateful if you would freeze these so that all payments made will reduce what I owe you.
Should our circumstances improve we will contact you again.
We would be grateful if you would send a [paying-in book] [standing order form] to make it easier to pay you.
Thank you for your assistance. We look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.
Yours faithfully

Thank you ever so fatbelly, I was panicking as it just looked so official!!
The next 30 mins will be spent putting this letter together.
Much appreciated.
Thanks SnS
