Bradford and Bingley Mortgage

Hi,

We took a 100% mortgage with Bradford and Bingley in 2007, and as they have now been taken over by the government we are unable to borrow any more, and want to move house.

We have heard of 'porting' but are unsure exactly how it works.

Ideally we want to port our mortage to a new, more expensive property, and pay the difference outright. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Are there any alternatives to getting a new mortgage?

Thanks.

Porting only applies where you remain with the same lender. So isn't relevant in your circumstances.

Start afresh to look for a mortgage.

If you need some guidance post up the details of your financial circumstances and property details. Then one of the resident brokers should post up some ideas.
