lenses for glasses frames?

Does anyone know of a reasonably priced place online that fits lenses into glasses frames?

My friend has just had her eyes lasered and has said i can have her glasses and get my own prescription lenses put in them as my own are broken, plus hers are designer and only 5 weeks old, much nicer than my old ones!

The thing is I life a long way from an optician and have mobility problems and the closest to me is specsavers who I doubt are the cheapest out there so I wondered if there are any online opticians who can do this for me and wont charge me too much?

I have no idea how much it would cost for lenses, does anyone have any idea?

Thanks

    Hi,

Both these sites offer reglazing at a decent price:

    http://www.glassesdirect.co.uk/glasses-reglaze/
    http://www.selectspecs.com/lens-replacement/

Hope that helps! I used Glasses Direct to have my prescription put in some fashion glasses and it only cost me around £15 (some time ago however so they may have upped their prices a little since then). I was impressed with them- I was expecting my glasses to break as they were a retro pair with clear lenses designed for show, but they were perfect.
  • I've had two pairs of my own frames fitted with varifocal lenses from http://www.onlineglassesdirect.co.uk - friendliest and most helpful people I've ever dealt with on the internet, got my glasses done in no time at all.

I have heard good things about CilliaryBlue.

  • Online Glasses Direct and CilliaryBlue seem to be the best two companies who offer spectacle reglazing. many good reviews about both companies on these boards. I've personally used Online Glasses Direct before and got brilliant service. My local Opticians have lost a good customer since I found out how much they were overcharging!

My husband has just got his glasses back from selectspecs, they took 10 days, but he has asigmatism so his lenses take a little longer. They were only £42 for rimless with all the coatings. He's really pleased with them
