Why can't I deduct my train tickets to commute?

    Nothing , we get nothing so not missing out on anything :P

    I havnt had a days sick in 10 years either . The whole time I have worked in my job :P

  • You can claim expenses that you incur in the course of doing your job.
    You cannot claim expenses you incur in the process of getting into a position to do your job.

    Give us one good reason why you SHOULD be able to claim the expenses, given that everyone has to incur them. Should you be able to claim food (don't eat = die and thus no work), your mortgage (homeless = no work), clothes (show up naked = not keeping job) etc?

    I would like to claim for the cost of a night out at the pictures in 1965 for my mum and dad please. If that had not happened I wouldn't be here now so would not be in any position to pay my taxes.

    is this tax deductible please?
