There I've said it..... I think I need some help.
I'm reading many of the other posts and advice, but I'm not sure what stops me taking it. Well to be fair some of it I do take.
I think one of my problems is that I can't stop spending money.
I work for a high street bank am successful in my job, I have a good salary but I can't manage money at all. Thankfully I don't have to deal with any customers and tell them how to manage theirs, that would be the totally irony!! I'm in IT thankfully!
I can't be bothered with the hassle of money, I have no clear idea how much I owe, how much is in my wallet, and how much I have in my bank account or not.
I can't work out why I've got this attitude, I think forgetting about it is my mechanism to cope. Whilst growing up I also had everything provided for me, and I never had to worry about money. My parents are quite well off and expect me to be successful so I daren't ask them for any help. In fact I keep all this to my self away from the wife and keep trying to sort it all out myself but never seem to get any closer. I keep telling myself that its not that bad and that others are worse off, which I'm sure people are.
I'll do a statement of affairs so that I know where I am though, and post back.
The basics are that I earn £40K+, I have a mortgage of £90K, and I think I have unsecured debts (credit cards, loans, overdrafts, etc) of around £20K.
Thankfully the house is worth about £170K.
In mean time I would welcome some words of encouragement from others that
show that I can get out of this. One of my goals is to have no overdraft and to have saved some money at the end of the month.
Well I guess this is step 1 any way.

Good luck on the road to financial stability - you are in the right place.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
