  • I've only been comping since the last week in August and I spend a couple of hours a day, although I only enter comps that are on MSE so the number varies. Sometimes I can only find about 25 comps to enter and on other days it can go up to 100. I've already had a couple of small wins - a couple of books and a cushelle koala and I managed to be one of the first 100 to retweet on the H&M twitter comp so won £100 gift card. I think the number of wins depend on a lot of things - the number of comps you enter and the type eg if you only go for the really big things you're entering comps where a lot of people will be doing the same thing so I suppose the odds will be a lot less. And it's so nice when the small prizes pop through your letterbox unexpectedly!

Anyway, well done on your first win, may it be the first of many :cool2:

  • Also, do you find if you sign up to hear more information you win more or does it not matter?[/QUOTE]

I've only recently started comping, not won yet, but have also been wondering if it makes a difference whether you agree to receive further info from the companies.

Can any of you lucky winners tell me whether you tick all the opt-out boxes and still win?

I started comping since march this year and as you can tell by my sig I've been very lucky and had some great wins, plus just found out this week that i've won a nintendo wii + game and the ben 10 tickets.

I comp every evening from about 7pm-10pm or 9pm-11pm and just enter the competitions the day before they expire.

@ Madame foo I still tick the boxes to opt-out most the time unless it has the * and is required, and still win.

I think the thing to remember is that if everyone ticked the Opt Out boxes we wouldn't know about half of the comps that are out there. Personally I don't mind getting emails, you can get some great offers and ideas for gifts among them. I do draw the line at telephone calls and texts, not that that stops some companies still doing it :(

  • Amazing to hear from you all, its making me comp even harder! :)

A lot of people say they enter the ones ending soon/the next day, does that make a diff or do you just like to find out sooner? :)

  • Hi Fieryfire,

I spend about 4 hours a day on competitions, probably enter around 70 - 80 a day. (It does suck away a little of your social life once you become addicted! It's all good fun though!)

I never actually knew of these forums until the beginning of September and this is when I took it seriously. I was previously just checking sites such as 'ukwins' and 'loquax' for newly found competitions.

Since being a member here, I've had some great wins! The MSE community is amazing also! :)

P.s. Well done on your first win! :T Hope there's plenty more wins to come for you!
