There is a company who sell completely pure cosmetics, they are called Absolutely Pure ,and their website is below, with a further helpful site www.naturalingredient.org

i watched that too:eek: ...its really freightening....
also the young girl.. that was eating mainly organic products... had the highest chemical result including banned chemicals.....that would tie in with the report in the gardening mag.. about organic produce in supermarkets having high levels of pesticides.....and banned pesticides......( inported organic produce )
also there must be chemical leakage from packaging...etc....
i really think there should be more programmes......etc... on this type of thing....and more companies should go under the spot light in general....Work to live= not live to work0 -

There is nothing natural about the body shop.
They had pledged to greenpeace to remove all toxic substances from their products by 2010 but that was before l'oreal purchased them - I doubt loreal will be removing toxic substances..ॐ Signature Removed by Someones Mum. ॐ0 -
thats true, the body shop has terrible chemicals in products....
i couldnt find one natural product !
what annoys me is the false advertisements, the way they label things.....
natural for example, yes ok there are natural ingrediants in the products along side aload of chemicals !!!
I went in Boots the other day and read the simple range of shampoos and soaps......they contain parabens (they think we are simple).
why is it i cant go down the town and buy chemically free toiletries ???Kindness costs nothing0 -

Eco-friendly toiletries available on the High Street are hard to find, but they are there if you know where to look
The Duchy range (Prince Charles) is available in Waitrose/Ocado, and is pretty much free of all the nasties.
For children, Halos N Horns in Tesco is good (and well priced).
Lush seems to get mentioned a lot, although I've not tried them myself.
And if you have a good Health Food/Organic shop, the Green People and Faith In Nature ranges are usually available through them
For biodegradeable sanitary wear (if you don't fancy the Mooncup), Nature do a range (again thorugh Waitrose/Ocado), or theres Natracare in health food shops.
And for babies, larger Boots are apparently starting to stock biodegradeable Moltex nappies (the best in terms of biodegradability, but previously only available on mail order or from health food shops) and Nature wipes, if you don't fancy going the washables route.
We (2 adults, 2 children and a baby) can get everything we need, from shops not mail order, within about 15 miles of us, which considering we have to travel that far for a major supermarket is pretty good (although it does often work out cheaper, and is definitely more environmentally friendly, to mail order in bulk).DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -
I have just found and started using the most wonderful products called Miessence
Their skin care range is certified organic to food standards so if you really want to eat it you can :-0. They also have shampoos/conditioners/make up etc. Would make an expensive but lovely Xmas Box.
Take a look at https://www.health-essentials.org
A wonderful product and as the programme the other night stated - at least 60% of the products you put on to your skin end up being absorbed so you want to make sure those products are not harmful - what can be better than 'food safe' organic products?
Hope this has helped.to be rich in happiness is worth so much more than to be rich in money.... wouldn't it be nice to have the choice of both though!0 -
I missed this. Why did organic food have higher pesticides etc? My teen daughter is very health conscious and will only eat organic.0

The girl had higher levels of pesticides not because of the food she was eating but purely because pesticides are in the air around us. Unfortunately we will never be fully rid of them and this family were totally organic in their whole daily lives from clothes to food. They even owned the organic shop 'Green Fibres' in Totnes. I am sure they were very upset with this information but you just wonder what this girls results would have been like had they not been a totally organic family...to be rich in happiness is worth so much more than to be rich in money.... wouldn't it be nice to have the choice of both though!0
