USPCA rehoming

Hi,

Just wanting to know if anyone knew if USPCA still rehomed dogs. I know the kennels at Carryduff closed last week, was out at ASSISI yesterday afternoon for a look round and we thought we would call in by Carryduff on way back home but found it closed down.

Many thanks
Mark

    What dog is it?
  • You sure it's closed down ? I don't think they open for long during the day.

    Just checked website:

    Rehoming/Reclaim Centre
    Open: Daily 2 .30pm – 5 .00pm

Give it a go between then

Mid-Antrim pet sanctuary- come off at the B95 from the M2, and once you start hitting the 40mph signs, they're on the right-hand side.
  • Hi,

    many thanks for your replies:

Lirin - Thanks for that, had a look round there too, just wanting to look round as many as we can.

mark206000 - Yeah, we went up about three or just after on sunday and it was all shut down with no sign of life at all, place empty.

I have emailed them to see but waiting reply just. Going by their site ringing them could take a while lol.

    Thanks again

Ring the Councils too - they always have dogs which have been picked up off the streets having been abandoned by their human [STRIKE]imbeciles[/STRIKE] owners who don't want them any more.

Regards the USPCA I believe that their main rehoming centre is at Divernagh Road, Bessbrook near Newry now - it's a bit out of the way in a very rural location. The Carryduff kennels are closed now according to their website, though confusingly they still have the opening hours on their "where we are" page.

They have gone through a bit of reorganisation lately with the intention of forcing the councils to take more responsibility for enforcing the laws concerning dangerous dogs and stray dogs rather than using their own charitable funds intended for relief of cruelty to animals.

  • hi, i would second the council pounds although take care as some of them are run alongside breeding kennels and some, not all but some, advertise their own dogs as dogs that are for rehoming so you could infact be rehoming a puppyfarmed pup/dog
"it's better than a poke in the eye with a pointy stick" - my dad, regularly throughout my childhood when I complained about something being too small/not perfect/not tasty/not what I wanted. he was right every time. :D
