There are two ways of writing a prescription. One is in plus cyl format and the other is in minus cyl format. One can be transposed to be written in the other format. If you transpose the old one into minus cyl it would read...

R - 0.75, -0.50, 180
L -0.50

The PD is the pupillary distance (the distance between your pupils). The first optician measured that to be 66mm and the 2nd 67mm.


In very basic terms - The first number of your prescription in each eye is the sphere and tells you how short sighted you are. Many people only have a sphere. If you have astigmatism then you also get a cyl and an axis.

The change in prescription is probably just one of those things. It's not significant and is not unusual in two years for a prescription to change like that.

The difference in vision between the right and left eye is hard to comment on without visions and VAs. You may just have one eye which will never correct as well as the other.
