Help me laugh at this

I've been lurking for a while and at the weekend decided to grab the bull by the horns, join the site and rein our spending in as a family. We don't owe massive amounts (about 17,000) in total and have the income to pay it off in the next couple of years but.. only if we stop spending beyond our means .

So this morning I join this site, full of hope and vigour, collected a friend to go to Home Bargains and then,,,,broke down on the dual carrage way, had to be towed to a garage and its going to cost at least 300. Please help me to keep smiling and keep up the hope and vigour

Cheers:eek:

  • :rotfl:Does that help? No? Thing is, it's not really a laughing matter - it's rather infuriating when you get yourself sorted and something like that happens. It happened to me as well and I was  and a little :( to tell you the truth! It just felt as though my one step forward was worth nothing... but soon I realised that my one step forward was totally worth it and have never looked back since! And NOW I can honestly say I can laugh at the situations I found myself in in the early days of my DMP! You can too!

    Chin up!

It's always two steps forward and three steps backwards when you start on the MSE trail

But.......when you start living within your means and even start *saving some money each month* you will find that a £300 bill for your car no longer gives you sleepless nights and you won't be reaching for that credit card quite so quickly. It's a bit of a slog at the beginning but honestly, you won't regret it. Good luck!

  • Oh I think it's sods law. On Saturday evening I worked out my savings plan for the next 2 pay days (moving house in 6 weeks). Was very pleased and cheerful at the projected results!

Sunday morning on the way to work my engine stalls whilst doing 60mph and refuses to restart :rotfl:

AA arrives, plugs in his hoogametechnododathingy and diagnoses a "Cam Shaft Position Sensor Failure". I look at him with a blank stare.

Towed to garage and drive away £150 lighter
