Harrington Brooks - Leave me alone!!!!!

sorry really need to rant we are now going through CCCS to set up a DMP not started yet as needed to change bank accounts, however it is the process. Anyway about 8 weeks ago when i started looking it to things i put details on some web site enquiry thingy and these harassing people called Harrington Brooks keep phoning me i have said no so many bloody times explained i am going through CCCS. Last week they phoned about 5 times everyday i never answered.
So today they call again i am so fed up of it so answer it to tell them not so politely NO!!! anyway i explained again an said NO but the guy would not listen started telling me crap like "CCCS are funded by the banks so they dont work all in your favour" oh really well you take a fee with each payment on a DMP dont you? reply - yes but we can do a lot more for you - me - really like what? then he just talked a load of crap! we would could write of about £8,000 of your debt, i asked how and got no reply!
There is surely no truth in the crap that he was saying!
Sorry for the rant, i am just so annoyed with companies like this! they are not there to help they are there to make money from people who cant afford it!

No there is no truth in what they are saying. Stick to your guns and stay well clear of HBrooks, they won't successfully write off any of your debts. CCCS will likely provide a much better service for your DMP and you will be confident in knowing that your payments will reach your creditors and wont have anything creamed off the top.
What he will have been refering to is trying to see if any of your debts are unenforceable. This means checking to see if any of your debts did not have correct credit agreements when you first took them out - there are a few threads on this topic https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2532927 and if you wanted to go down this route you would need to fully understand the implications. But if you did want to go down this route you would be much better advised to look into it yourself when all it would cost is a few quid, not to pay harrington brooks or anyone to do this for you.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

Thank you! i will look at the thread suggested but tbh i dont think it will be worth our while i double any of our debts fall in to that category.

If they are harassing you and won't take no for an answer, you should start enjoying the calls. Try answering the phone with...
"Erectile dysfunction hotline, you sound like you need our help?"
"At the third stroke, the time sponsored by accurist will be...."
"Who would you like to speak to... I'm sorry she died this morning. Leprosy."
"Who would you like to speak to... Sure let me just go get her" Then just put the phone on the table and leave it there for 20 mins... might as well waste their phone bill and time, they're wasting yours.
Alternatively you could just answer the phone with heavy breathing and grunting noises - never say a word. Eventually they'll stop calling you.0 -
I would like to add another vote for NOT using Harrington Brooks.
My partner was using them but recently transferred to using the CCCS because payments seem to have been getting missed or not made as agreed to the creditors.
Now Harrington Brooks are becoming more of a pest than any of the actual creditors with their constant phone calls.
They have now been told not to call again so from now on they will be treated in the same way cold callers are. As in if they slip through the call screening they will be told to, well it ends with OFF.0 -

I was getting bugged by them so I took a call one day spun them a line for about 30 mins then asked the guy if he liked having his time wasted he was not impressed and hung up needless to say they have never called me back
