Not sure if this is the right place??
Long story shortened - we relocated in June and daughters new school does not offer German lessons. DD wants to be an English teacher in Germany and therefore needs the German language. I need to hire a private German tutorfor my and I wondered if anyone had any experience of private tutors and what sort of costs I can expect.
The school have agreed to be the registered centre and are paying for the exams if I fund the tutor, which will be a great help and I am very grateful to them.
Forgot to mention, DD is in Yr 9.
Any advice would be gratefuly received.
Thanks

Hi ican...
I think it is likely to depend upon whereabouts in the country you have relocated to. For instance, if you are living in London (or the south east generally) you are likely to pay significantly more than if you live in rural Wales. It also depends on the level of tutoring you require - i.e. do you want someone with a teaching qualification or would you be happy to employ a native German speaker. Whereabouts are you?

Thanks for your reply.
We are in the Midlands. the tutor I have found is German and she teaches English as a supply teacher at DD's school so is qualified to teach and is a native German speaker!!0 -
I think you have the right person for the job. You def want a teacher if half of the point is to pass the exams. In "rural wales" I have seen lessons advertised for £15 an hour, although that was for Spanish, not German, and it wasn't geared up towards an exam.0
