Hi
I am looking to buy an espresso machine for the old's they mainly drink espresso but when the grankids go over they like hot chocolates. I am looking to buy a good make at a good price can anyone recommend one? If it does other coffees thats fine and also is it worth getting one that runs on the pellets as they may be more expensive in the long run?
thanks for your help

The pellet ones are, in my view, a waste of money. You'd be spending at least 40p per cup never mind the cost of the machine in the first place.
Espresso prices vary hugely from £40 up to well over a grand so it depends how much you want to spend. The cheaper ones tend to be less reliable.
This DeLonghi costs £48 including delivery from Amazon, gets reasonable reviews although some people have pointed out that you need to use tiny cups with it.

Another one with generally decent reviews is this Russell Hobbs which costs £51.45 including delivery from Amazon.

An alternative is this Presso Coffeemaker which doesn't use any electricity. All the reviews say that it makes an excellent cup of coffee but at £84 including delivery you may feel it's an expensive gimmick.

I can't find any of these machines cheaper elsewhere though you're welcome to look.0
