Nylon dye

Does anyone know where I can buy a nylon dye. I've tried Asda & Morrisons but no joy. I can find dyes for other materials but not nylon.

Dylon 'Multi-Purpose Dye' I think in most cases can be used for Nylon

I have seen this in Wilkinsons, if you don't have one there are many others on the list http://www.dylon.co.uk/Where2Buy/Index.htm (Woolworths, Dunelm mill, John Lewis etc. and independents) but I would avoid the supermarkets as they usually have poor selections.

The postcode search is rubbish but the city search worked for me and then you click on the retailer to see what they stock.

I dyed a pair of beige jodhpurs 'brown' a few months ago .... came out bright orange

Depends on the type of synthetic. As Firespire says, Dylon Multi-purpose works on nylon. I have used it to dye tights and had great results. However, it doesn't work on other synthetics. I'm not aware of anything that does. I know you can dye plastics but it is notoriously difficult to get an even and consistent result and I doubt there are any commercially available products for dyeing synthetic fibres.

Dylon Multi-purpose is available in good art and craft shops and some good independent hardware stores as well as the retailers suggested by Firespy.

Many thanks for your replies. The search facitlity brought up a small hardware shop in our village - never thought of trying there. The item needing dying is a Kipling bag which has somehow been stained in the wash (daughter very unimpressed, lol).
