Hi All,
Does anyone by any chance have a recipe for these? My lovely gran is absolutely mad on them and I know you can buy them in M&S but she thinks they taste a bit shop bought so I thought I'd have a go at making some and putting them in her hamper of favourite foods I'm making her for christmas.
I've found a recipe on here for making them look like christmas puds bt it involves wrapping them in marzipan, stupid question I'm sure but can i just soak the cherries and then dip them straight into chocolate? It's just she's not too fond of marzipan.
She also loves ginger in syrup, again could I make that or is it complex?
Thanks in advance, as you can tell all these homemade sweets are a bit new to me! Do have my first attempt at twinks hob nobs in the oven though so am getting there!!

I actually have no idea how to make these either but I like the sound of these so I shall watch with bated breath to see what the experts come up with!!0

My Mum used to make loads of these. As far as I can recall she used to soak the cherries in Brandy for several hours or longer if you want them stronger. Drain the cherries well and then dip them in the chocolate one at a time and then leave to set on bakewell paper. I think she used a cocktail stick to hold them before she dipped them.
Don't be tempted as I did once to throw a load of cherries in at once, it makes the chocolate seize because of the moisture. My mum used to use glace cherries. She just used ordinary ones but Julian graves sell coloured ones.0
