Affinion ! Searching my credit report.

Hi, I have been checking my credit report and there have been loads of searches on it from a company called affinion, how can I stop this, and are all these searches having an impact on my score.

Has anyone had this problem before?

These guys I would imagine, no idea why they are searching you...what's the search type?

Hi As i understand if it has unrecorded enquiry next to it then it wont be noticible to lenders although I may be wrong!

Maybe try contacting the company - Via email so you have it it writing and just asking why they keep searching.

If its a visible enquiry, leaving a footmark that others can see then I would contact the credit reference agencies (via their websites or email) and state that you have not given permission for this company to search your file and have never heard of them and request that all the searches are removed.

They should then take the matter up with affnion. I would not contact affinion directly if you have not had any previous dealings with them.

Edit: it looks like this is related to the identy theft product privacyguard - do you have such a product? if so then it may well be that these are unrecorded enquiries and they are monitoring your file on your behalf.
