Some advice would be greatly appreciated regarding what benefits I can claim.
OH seems to think I won't be able to claim for much as he lives with me and earns too much (approx £800 per month without overtime/extras etc).
I know I can get Jobseekers allowance but what about things like council tax benefit and rent/mortgage benefits??
Are there any other benefits I may be able to claim for but aren't widely known about???
I figured that you guys here will be able to help (I've also posted on the benefits page!) - I really don't know where else to ask - can't imagine the benefits agency will be too forthcoming!!

I'm just wondering why you don't get another contract - what line of work is it? I'm sure that you can only get jobseeker's allowance if you're actively seeking work and then only a certain time after you've first become unemployed (or perhaps that was the old system, not sure)0

It was a fixed term contract (covering maternity leave) - it was originally supposed to end on 8 September but they kept me on for a further month - I was quite hopeful that they would keep me on permanently, but was informed today that this wouldn't be the case0
