Hi Funky, congrats on baby :-)
I started a DMP this year and EXACTLY the same thing happened-just going through papers and discovered MOT and tax due end of the month. Had tears, panics, the works. Called up CCCS and she said words to the effect of "dont worry, these things happen, how about you pay £25 next month instead of £315, and we give you £250 back from last month". I burst into tears on the phone......and im a fully grown rugby playing biker lol.....
Theres always a solution, and even though im going through hell right now too, I know that things will get better one day....
Call payplan tomorrow, explain the situation, and then focus on being a fab mum.

we are renting and im not on maternity leave as i am a SAHM ( i want to go back to work but childcare is £700 pm for them both ) we are not entitled to any benefits other than the £10.50 a week tax & CB & sorry for the confusion its my partners dad who works at a garage. x
You should be entitled to more than this. Child benefit is doubled for a child under 1 so you should be receiving at least £30 per week for both children. And unless your partner earns a lot of money you should be entitled to some tax credits too.0 -
When you redo your SOA don't forget to setaside 10 pounds per month for next years MOT and maybe 10-20 a month for car repairs? I appreciate it will take you longer to get debt free but should help avoid a a similar situation next year. In the meantime I agree with the other posters - contact Payplan and let them know you can't afford payments this month and you need a review anyway as you have another little one - congratulations but the way
.
Good Luck

Also, have you claimed everything during pregnancy that you are able to? The surestart grant and the one for healthy veg (lordy, I can't remember what it's called, sorry!!!)?? I know they are to be cancelled, but I don't think they have yet, have they?
If you can put up a SOA, we might be able to help a bit... just a thought..
I'm a SAHM as well, so I know it can be a bit challenging sometimes to find the money out of the budget, reminding myself that it would be more difficult financially for us if I worked at present, as I would simply be working to pay for childcare (if it even covered that expense!).
Is there anyone else that works with your DH that he could catch a lift with?MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0
