Sainsbury Store refit voucher

Wifey got quite excited yesterday with a £5 off when you spend £10 voucher from Sainsbury due to our local store closing down for a week for the final part of a major refit.
Unfortunately, when reading the small print, it is only valid at Bramingham park store Luton.Considering we are in Devon and checking AA route finder it is 211.9 miles and 3 hours 38 minutes travelling time away so although greatful for the kind offer we feel we may have give this one a miss.:rotfl:

Only time we have been to Luton was when I was at school 28 years ago and flew to italy for a school skiing holiday!

  • If they were giving them out locally, I reckon you will be able to use them at that particular refurbished store, despite what the small print says, though maybe a check with the Customer Services desk beforehand might be a good idea.

When my local Sainsburys was being refurbished, they were handing out similar vouchers, though with the correct store name. And you know how people simply throw away flyers that are handed to them... well normally I strongly disapprove of littering, but I had a field day collecting discarded ones- my family saved a lot of money at Sainsburys that week, spending just over £10 on each of several visits!

Anyway, back to your story, you have nothing to lose by trying...

When the store I work in closed for a week last year, they done the same thing give out vouchers for use at the next nearest store. When the store re-opens, if you go in & speak to customer services the store might accept them. That's what happened when our store re-opened & they also accepted others stores vouchers for a few weeks.
  • When road works were taking place in the vicinity of my local Sainsbury's it must have put people off shopping there because I got a personalised money off voucher through the post - together with a letter encouraging me to keep shopping there as the store was still open despite the work! Could do with a few more road works taking place!

Shame they are not doing it at my local store, they are shut for over a year whilst they knock it down and rebuild it and have opened a tiny temporary store in the town.
  • I'd send it back to their head office with a jokey letter pointing out what you've said. If you're lucky they might send you more useful vouchers in return!

Update- Phoned the Exeter branch yesterday.
" Sorry to bother you,You have probably been asked this before",The woman at customer services said "Don't tell me-LUTON ENQUIRY-Yes you can spend them here-PRINTING ERROR" :):)

Unfortunately I had not of thought of sending them to head office as suggested until I read the previous posts, but by then it was too late.
Wifey overheard me on the phone this morning and when I asked her where the voucher was at 5pm , she said she had spent it on essentials on the school run home this afternoon:silenced:
No patience that woman, bang goes the pre xmas coach trip jolly to Luton. :(
