Why do you think you need one?

I've never had one as I was born before they started giving them to everyone. And I've never had the slightest need for one either.

You can just tell anyone who needs to know your NI number what it is - a bit of plastic doesn't make any difference IMHO.

That bit of plastic has made a difference to my dh ... he has a memory like a sieve! LOL

When age erodes the memory cells, those little plastic things come in very handy to have for form filling if you have one tucked in your wallet/purse.

Plus, handy to keep with your other legal docs. should anything happen and someone looking after your affairs needs to know

I need one for my new employer to prove I am eligible to work in this country. I cant find my passport and thought that getting an NI card would be cheaper and easier.
