This sounds like it's along the lines of the chocolate coin maker I bought a couple of years ago. It took about two hours to make 1 chocolate coin and then it's eaten in about one second! painful!

Ahh the infamous chocolate coin maker. We've still got the chocolate drops floating around the fridge. Really must pluck up the courage to bin the whole lot. Damn kids TV channels for showing adverts during cartoons for useless tripe that we get tortured into buying!

Maybe everyone should read the reviews first.

This kind of thing happened to us. Bought it for our daughter & it has only been used once....now in cupboard...not been out since July, I'm hoping she forgets about it as it made so much mess! lol The iceing goes everywhere even when I pushed the handle down slowly it still went everywhere...no way did they look like the ones on the box!! :p

I'd love to see pics of ones that have been successful :D x

This made me lol, we once spent a very stressful Xmas day afternoon making 2 coins, which took about an hour and a half, I wouldn't of cared but I had a bag of chocolate coins in the cupboard, has never been used again. Also have this cup cake maker, again used once, never been out again. Much more fun to bake as normal :)

    Aged 8 and up?
At the age of 8 there is no reason why kids can't be in the kitchen with mum or dad making real cakes with a real oven.
Also, we shouldn't really be encouraging kids to eat micro-waved food should we? This sort of 'toy' really annoys me, like when my dd was given a popcorn maker one christmas. Waste of the earth's resources if you ask me!

  • Just an idea, if you're Kids want something like this, but you don't want to buy it (based on the rubbish reviews). Why not make your own little Baking Hamper, you could buy an apron, cookie cutters, mixing bowl, tubes of writing icing and sprinkles, packet of 'cake mix' etc- put them all in a little box or the mixing bowl and wrap in cellophane.
