Capital One advice please

This may go on a while so I will apologise now. Basically I am after some help on how to deal with Capital One. I have been in touch with CCCS regarding my debt, after going through everything we agreed that before we went down the DMP route I should contact all the companies I owe money to myself & see if I could come to a mutual arrangement, I have done this now and every company has been helpful & all plans have been arranged and are being paid. Apart from Capital One. I offered to pay them £80 per month until the balance is paid off, they wouldn't accept this & said that I had to fill in a statement of earnings form, which they then did not bother sending, they have been calling & calling me (I have got to the point of ignoring their calls now which I know I shouldn't do), I explained to them (when I did answer) that I had not received this form so they said they would send this again, this finally arrived on Thursday, when I look through the form though they want all of my partners details, income only though, and then they want me to also provide copies of all my bank statements, wage slips & copies of all the household bills, do I really have to send this into them or is there another way I could deal with them & come to a mutual arrangement? Any advice or letter wording etc would be much appreciated, this is the last debtor I have to set up a plan with now.

Incidentally - I have been keeping up with the £80per month off my own back for the last 3 months as this is how long this has nowe gone on for.

Thanks

Julie

ive dealt with capital one, i wasnt asked for wage slips, bank details or anything....im always wary of sending such infor willy nilly anyway....i just sent them my own income/expenditure sheet and they accepted monthly payments of £44 on what was a balance of £2000+.Stick to your guns yours sounds a reasonable offer maybe they are just applying pressure to see if they can get more from you?
  • Hi there
Capital One have been doing this to me for months everytime they ask for wageslips proof of benefits etc I just send my SOA and a letter stating my intention to pay my pro rata offer other views on here is keep sending your SOA and normal practice eventually is they will accept your DMP
hope this helps 7 months into mine they have still not accepted

I've got a Capital One debt and they were the last ones to stop interest and charges although they did eventually, but only after I sent a letter to their complaints department. You can send them a letter to stop the harrassing phone calls, a template is here....

You don't have to send payslips etc to them unless you want to, but I would personally advise against it. Otherwise, you'll have their collections department picking over your household expenses and deciding what you should be spending on food and clothing, which is really none of their business. Carry on sending the monthly payment, then write a letter requesting that they stop interest and charges whilst you are in financial difficulty, and stating that you have taken advice from CCCS and that you are paying the amount that you can currently afford, towards your debt. A template letter can be found here...

You can adjust the letter to suit your situation and if you send it to the complaints department, you may have more luck. Don't fret too much, they can't have what you haven't got, sooner or later they will accept the offer, after all, they don't have much choice do they? :)
