Man-Friendly Meals

Right okay, basically my main erm, 'talent' is cooking. :D
I'm a pretty good chef, and know my way around the kitchen. I'm trying to make things more impressive though, to be, well, impressive. :D I sort of need them to be pretty on budget though, so if anyone has any ideas they'd be much appreciated? :)

  • You need Mr Bad Examples cooking index :)

I'll pop this into the quick questions thread later

  • Thanks Zip, I had a look at that but, well the recipes are good, but more just for a bloke rather than for impressing a certain someone (probably didn't make that clear in my first post...) ;)

Will I still get recipe idea if I'm in the 'quick questions' thread?
  • Might want to get hold of a copy of Economy Gastronomy (or check BBC website for their recipes) - these are lovely, a bit more posh recipes and would definitely impress your certain someone - whilst still reasonably budget-friendly :D
:D Skint but happy with my lovely family :D

    Hypnotherapy rocks :j

Thank you! That's the sort of thing I'm looking for :) I'll have a look on the BBC website now, and see what Economy Gastronomy is like :) Many thanks!

    No problemo!

I made curry for my new boyf, well when he was new!:j - he is a veggie so it was a bit scary! Could you make curry & pilau rice, and shop bought nan?You can usually get whoopsied nan bread , throw it in the freezer until you need it

He ate it all up, even though it was potato and pea curry (and he doesn't like peas:p)

I have a cool flat bread recipe too - Strong white bread flour, plain flour and bicarb (or is it baking powder or both?) i think. You can make them in advance and then reheat in the microwave. They are supposed to puff up in the micro although mine don't always work perfect. I m ade them for my brother recently and he loved them
