Sher, You did sterling work on the thread, thank you and I wish you well in the US.

Idlesaver, thank you for taking over.

I don't very often post on the thread, but would like to echo the above. And thanks to everyone who manages to find coupons - something I never seem able to do!

Huge thanks to Sher for a splendid job and to Idlesaver for taking the job on.
Had a really bizarre experience in Sainsburys yeterday. Popped in just a few minutes before closing time to get some of the bacon mentioned by CurlyLocks on the Grabbit thread:

(Just been to Sainsbury's. They have Smoked and Unsmoked Back Bacon (RedLion Foods) 200g, at half price and Buy One Get One Free. Works out at £1.50 for 2 x 200g).

Wondered if it would work as seemed to be some stores only. Got 4 packs. Went to self-scan and put through 2 packs to see what happened (it did work). All of a sudden the till went a bit strange and the young man at the till next to mine apologised for putting a £20 in my payslot instead of his! Called over the superviser who just gave the man his £18.50 change and said "OK, they're paid for". I told the young man I couldn't give him the money as I had no cash at all on me and suggested that he get the supervisor to void the transaction. He said "Oh no, that's OK have them on me!!" So I put though the other 2 packs, thanked him again and left. So 4 packs of bacon for £1.50.

Also used the printable £5 off any book over £10 at WH Smith to get the 2011 Guinness Book of Records for £5 (its half price at £10 at the moment). That's another stocking filler sorted!
  • Morning all :)

Thanks for taking over the thread for us Idlesaver - I'm sure you'll do a great job.:T

Thanks once more to Sher too for doing such a wonderful job of taking care of the thread.:A

I'm a bit miffed with my local Sainsbury. Went in there on Friday night and there girl was doing the final reductions on the chiller stuff. No one could get anything though, as a young woman had stacked up everything she wanted and as the girl reduced it all, she handed it straight to the woman to add to her trolley FULL of stuff reduced to pennies. If anyone picked up an item off the pile, they were told they couldn't have it as it "belonged" to this young woman.
